Developing Windows Services in C#

Windows Services (aka NT Services, similar to daemons in Linux/UNIX) can perform a wide variety of useful background tasks behind the scenes. With no user interface, they communicate through the Event Log and through various forms of interprocess communication. C# and .NET provide a relatively painless way to get started developing and debugging Windows Services. (Note, these are not web services.)
